Crush, Texas

Crush, Texas, was a temporary "city" established as a one-day publicity stunt in 1896. William George Crush, general passenger agent of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad (popularly known as the Katy), conceived the idea to demonstrate a train wreck as a spectacle. No admission was charged, and train fares to the crash site were at the reduced rate of US$2 from any location in Texas.

Czech Stop and Little Czech Bakery

The Czech Stop and Little Czech Bakery is located at 105 N. College Sreet in the city of West, Texas. Established in 1983, the Czech Stop serves traditional Czech cuisine such as kolache, klobasnek and strudels. It is a combination of a deli and a bakery and serves around 600 people a day. Gholson, Texas

Gholson is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 959 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area was settled in the 1840s, and was early known as Sardis. The name Gholson, after early settlers, brothers Benjamin and Samuel Gholson, came into gradual use, and became the official name of the post office in 1887.
