Parker County, Texas

Parker County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 116,927. The county is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Parker County is named for Isaac Parker, a state legislator who introduced the bill that established the county in 1855. The seat of the county is Weatherford. The 1932 Republican gubernatorial nominee, Orville Bullington, was reared in Parker County.

Willow Park, Texas

Willow Park is a city in Parker County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,127 at the 2010 census. Willow Park was the location of Trinity Meadows Race Track, one of the first horse racing tracks opened once Texas legalized parimutuel betting. However, it was never seriously considered for upgrade to first-class status, and once Lone Star Park opened, Trinity Meadows Race Track closed. It is home to Squaw Creek golf course, located just off Ranch House Road.

Weatherford College

Weatherford College (WC; officially Weatherford College of the Parker County Junior College District) is a community college located in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, with branch campuses in nearby Decatur, Granbury and Mineral Wells. With an unbroken operating history as a two-year college going back to 1921 (and having operated continuously in some fashion since 1869), WC claims the title of the oldest community college in Texas.
