Hurricane High School is the only high school in Hurricane, Utah, with a current enrollment of about 850 students in grades 10-12 from Hurricane and surrounding communities, including La Verkin, Toquerville, Hildale, Virgin, Rockville, and Springdale. With 762 students enrolled as of March 8, 2007, it is the 4th largest high school in Washington County School District. Hurricane High's school colors are red and black. The school mascot is a tiger.

Hurricane Mesa Test Facility

Hurricane Mesa Test Facility, in southern Utah, is owned and operated by Goodrich Aircraft Interior Products Propulsion Systems. It is the United States' only privately owned supersonic test track. The test facility is located north of Utah State Route 9 between La Verkin, Utah and Zion National Park.

Elephant Arch

Elephant Arch is a small natural sandstone arch in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and Red Cliffs Desert Reserve north of Washington, Utah that resembles the trunk and eye of an elephant. The arch is part way up a hillside at the end of a dirt hiking trail.

As of 2000, the county's population was 90,354 and by 2010 the U.S. Census Bureau reported it to be 138,115. Its county seat and largest city is St. George, Utah. The county was named for the first President of the United States, George Washington. Washington County experienced the fifth highest job-growth rate in the United States at one point.
