Kolob Canyons

Kolob Canyons is the northwest section of Zion National Park of Utah, United States. The Kolob Canyons are part of the Colorado Plateau region of the park and are noted for their colorful beauty and diverse landscape. This part of Zion National Park is accessed by a park road about 20 miles south of Cedar City, Utah off Interstate 15. In 1847, Mormon farmers from the Salt Lake area became the first people of European descent to settle the Virgin River region.

Hurricane Mesa Test Facility

Hurricane Mesa Test Facility, in southern Utah, is owned and operated by Goodrich Aircraft Interior Products Propulsion Systems. It is the United States' only privately owned supersonic test track. The test facility is located north of Utah State Route 9 between La Verkin, Utah and Zion National Park.

Browse, Utah

Browse is an unincorporated area of Washington County in southwestern Utah near Interstate 15. Browse is in a transitional climate zone as it is located between St. George, Utah at about 2800 feet above sea level in the Mojave Desert and Cedar City, Utah in the Great Basin at nearly 5900 feet. The Hurricane Cliffs, part of the Colorado Plateau, are directly to the east.

Kolob Arch

Kolob Arch is a natural arch in Zion National Park, Utah. The Natural Arch and Bridge Society considers Kolob Arch to be the second longest natural arch in the world. In 2006, the Society measured the span at 287.4 ± 2 feet (87.6 m), which is slightly shorter than the Landscape Arch in Arches National Park. Differences in measuring technique or definitions could produce slightly different results and change this ranking.

Fort Harmony, Utah

Fort Harmony, Utah was an early settlement in Iron County, Utah. It was founded in 1852. Among the settlers there was John D. Lee. It was also the original headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints's Southern Indian Mission. However since Lee constantly tried to usurp the authority of the leaders of the Southern Indian Mission they relocated to Pinto, Utah in about 1856.
