Namangan Province

Namangan Province is a viloyat (province) of Uzbekistan, located in the southern part of the Fergana Valley in far eastern part of the country. It is on the right bank of Syr Darya River and borders with Kyrgyzstan, Fergana Province and Andijan Province. It covers an area of 7,900 km. The population is estimated to be around 1,970,000, with over 62% of the population living in rural areas. Namangan Province is divided into 11 administrative districts.

Markaziy Stadium (Namangan)

Markaziy Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Namangan, Uzbekistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 33,000 people, with standing room for a further 250,000. Other uses for the stadium have in the past included; rugby, cricket, beach volleyball, yak racing and ultimate frisbee. Jim Davidson once played here to a crowd of over 50 in his tour of Central Asia in 2002, shortly after the Uzbek National Space Programme set up headquarters in the away fans terrace.
