Phú Quốc, also known as Koh Trol in Cambodia, is the largest island in Vietnam. Phú Quốc and nearby islands, along with distant Thổ Chu Islands, is part of Kiên Giang Province as Phú Quốc District, the district has a total area of 574 square kilometres and a permanent population of approximately 85,000. The district of Phú Quốc includes the island proper and 21 smaller islets. The district seat, Dương Đông, is located on the west coast, and is also the largest town on the island.

The airport covers nearly 900 hectares in Duong To village, Phu Quoc island-district, Kien Giang Province at a cost of around VND The VND16.2 trillion (US$810 million) and is planned to be built in phases. The airport is 10 km from the existing Phu Quoc Airport. It replaced the existing airport from 2 December 2012.

Koh Sess
Koh Sess of Koh Ses (also romanized as Kaoh Ses) is a Cambodian island located in southwestern Cambodia at the entrance of Kampot Bay. A 4.3 km wide sound separates it from Phu Quoc.
