Surobi District (Kabul)
Surobi, Sarobi or Sarubi District is a district of Kabul Province, Afghanistan. Its capital, Surobi, lies about 60 kilometres east of Kabul along the A01 highway, although much of the district lies northeast of Kabul. Its principal river is the Kabul River.

The town of Surobi is the center of Surobi District, between Kabul and Jalalabad, in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. It is located on {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:34.5897|N|69.7625|E||||| | |name= }} at 998 m altitude in the valley of the Kabul River East from Kabul on the road to Jalalabad. The population is more than 22,000 people (2007 calculation). It was the Hezbi Islami's stronghold from 1987-1995.

Uzbin Valley ambush
The Uzbin Valley ambush occurred when ISAF troops were ambushed by Afghan militants in eastern Afghanistan on 18 August 2008. It took place outside the village of Spēṟ Kunday, of the Surobi District of Kabul province and resulted in heavy casualties to the French ISAF contingent. A NATO report of the incident summarised that the surviving members of the Coalition forces were "lucky to escape" arguing that they were poorly equipped, ill-organised and faced a well-prepared enemy.
