Kabul Polytechnic is a university located in Kabul, Afghanistan and was established in 1963 in Karte Mamourin area beside the Intercontinental Hotel. The university has three faculties with 19 sub-departments, including 11 professional and 8 general subject departments. In June 2002, the first government of Afghanistan was formed by the Loya Jirga which took place at a tent on the campus of the Polytechnical University.

It served as the nation's first international luxury hotel, one of the most visited by foreigners since its opening in 1969. Kabul University
Kabul University (KU) is located in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. It was founded in 1931 but officially opened for classes in 1932. Kabul University is attended by 7,000 students, of which 1,700 are women. Hamidullah Amin is the chancellor of the university. The university is still recovering from the long period of war and chaos in the country. The main building was renovated about 500 meters from the old one, which has almost the same design.
