Kama District

Kama is a district in Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, to the east of Jalalabad. Its population, which is 100% Pashtun, was estimated at 88,000 in 2002. The district centre is the village of Sanger Srye Kama. The districts includes most of the Kama valley, connecting Jalalabad with the Khyber Pass.

Darunta Dam

The Darunta Dam is a hydroelectric power dam located on the Kabul River, approximately 7 km west of Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province in eastern Afghanistan. Darunta Dam was constructed by Soviet Union (USSR) companies in 1964 and its power station contains three vertical Kaplan turbines (six-blade propeller) with a rated output of 3.85 MW each.

Nangarhar University

Nangarhar University (Pashto: د ننګرهار پوهنتون&#8206) is a government-funded higher learning institution in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. It is the second largest university in Afghanistan. It has approximately 25 faculty and 3,500 students. Nangarhar University was established in 1962 as a medical college. It was later merged with other local colleges to become a full-fledged university.
