The town of Surobi is the center of Surobi District, between Kabul and Jalalabad, in Kabul Province, Afghanistan. April 2009 Afghanistan earthquake
The 2009 Afghanistan earthquake was an earthquake of 5.5 moment magnitude that occurred in eastern Afghanistan on 15 April 2009, 01:57 local time . The earthquake was followed two hours later by an aftershock of 5.1 moment magnitude. The quakes struck about 50 miles (90 km) east of Kabul near the Pakistan border. A government representative told AP News that the quakes killed 22 people, wounded 20 and destroyed 100 homes.
