Glen Huon is a small township and surrounding area on the western side of the Huon River in the south-east of Tasmania, Australia between Huonville and Judbury. At the 2006 census, Glen Huon had a population of 990.

Huonville, Tasmania

Huonville is a town on the Huon River, in the south-east of Tasmania, Australia. The town lies within the Huon Valley Council area. It lies 38 km south of Hobart on the Huon Highway. At the 2006 census, Huonville had a population of 1,806 and at the 2011 census had a population of 1741. The first Europeans to set eyes on the Huon River were the crew commanded by Admiral Bruni d'Entrecasteaux. The river was named by him in honour of his second in command, Captain Huon de Kermadec.

The Egg Islands are a small group of low-lying estuarine islands in the tidal lower reaches of the Huon River of south-east Tasmania, Australia. They face the town of Franklin which lies on the western bank of the river.

Triarius (tree)

The Triarius is an enormous Swamp Gum (Eucalyptus regnans F. Muell. ) in southern Tasmania, Australia. The tree is 86.5 metres tall, its diameter is 3.90 metres, volume of the trunk is 219 cubic metres. Discovered in August 2008 by employees of Forestry Tasmania while analysing the data collected by LiDAR system used in mapping and assessment of state forest resources.

Centurion (tree)

The Centurion is the tallest Swamp Gum (Eucalyptus) tree (Eucalyptus regnans F. Muell. ) in the world, thus making Eucalyptus regnans the second tallest tree species in the world after Coast Redwood and the tallest angiosperm in world. The tree is located in southern Tasmania, Australia and is 99.6 metres tall. Discovered in August 2008 by employees of Forestry Tasmania while analysing the data collected by LiDAR system used in mapping and assessment of state forest resources.
