Stolin
Stolin is a town in the Brest Voblast of Belarus. It is the centre of the largest district in Brest voblast. The population is 12,500 people (2002). The Belarusian-Ukrainian border is about 15 km away, so Stolin is now a border city that hosts many Ukrainians on market days. Russian speech is common here, but villagers prefer their dialects that are numerous and akin partly to the Belarusian language, partly the Ukrainian language.

The Stolin Raion (Stolin District) is an administrative subdivision, a raion, in the southeast of the Brest Voblast, in Belarus. It was established on January 15, 1940 with its administrative center in the city of Stolin. The region has a population of 89,000 people, of which 26,300 people live in urban areas. The Stolin raion covers 3342 km. and borders the country of Ukraine to its south.

Velyki Ozera
Velyki Ozera is a village in the Polesia region of Ukraine. Jeziory is located in the Rivne Oblast in the Dubrovytsia Raion. It lies on the banks of the Lwa River. Until 1945, it was located in Poland, within the Polesie Voivodeship of Powiat Piński. On September 18, 1939, upon the Soviet invasion of Poland, the playwright Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz committed suicide while staying in the village. He was buried in the village's cemetery.
