Interesting facts about this location

Radobolja

Radobolja is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is five kilometers long and its spring is located below the Mikuljaca hill in Mostar's suburb of Ilici. Radobolja flows through Mostar and flows into the Neretva River near the Old Bridge. During the Ottoman rule water from Radobolja was used for irrigation and drinking, however today's Radobolja is polluted due to discharge of waste-water.

Stari Most

Stari Most is a reconstruction of a 16th century Ottoman bridge in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina that crosses the river Neretva and connects two parts of the city. The Old Bridge stood for 427 years, until it was destroyed on 9 November 1993 by Bosnian Croat forces during the Croat-Bosniak War. Subsequently, a project was set in motion to reconstruct it, and the rebuilt bridge opened on 23 July 2004.

Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church

The Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church in Mostar is one of four Roman Catholic cathedrals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the seat of the Mostar-Duvno Bishopric currently led by Bishop Ratko Perić.

University of Mostar

The University of Mostar (Croatian: Sveučilište u Mostaru; Latin: Universitas Studiorum Mostariensis) is the only Croatian language university in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Roots of University of Mostar date back to 1895 when the Franciscan theological school was established. In 1950 Higher teacher-training school started with its work in Mostar. Then follows establishment of Higher technical school in 1959, Higher agricultural school in 1960, Departments of the Faculties of Law and Economics.
