Battle of Dimawe

The Battle of Dimawe was fought between several Batswana tribes and the Boers in August 1852. Under the command of Kgosi Setshele I of the Bakwena tribe, the Batswana defended Dimawe Hill and the Bahurutshe tribe against Boer troops.

Ramotswa

Ramotswa is a village in South-East District of Botswana, southwest of the capital of Gaborone. The population was 27,760 in 2001 census. It is the tribal capital of the BaLete, an ethnic minority springing from the Nguni tribe. Ramotswa's main industry is a wheat flour mill. The village also manufactures metal products. Kgosi Mosadi Seboko of Ramotswa is the first woman to serve as a paramount chief in Botswana.

Mokolodi Nature Reserve

Mokolodi Nature Reserve is a private not-for-profit game reserve in southern Botswana. Founded in 1994 by The Mokolodi Wildlife Foundation, it is situated on 30 km sq. of donated land 10 km south of the capital Gaborone. The nature reserve is inhabited by a wide variety of indigenous African game, bird and reptile species, some of which are rare and vulnerable to the threat of extinction.

Mogobane

Mogobane is a village in South-East District of Botswana. It is located 55 km south of Gaborone and 40 km east of Kanye. The village is designed along Mogobane dam. Mogobane is home to the Balete people who are related to those in Ramotswa, Gabane and Otse and the population was 2,053 in 2001 census.
