Kremen, Blagoevgrad Province

Kremen is a mountainous village in southwestern Bulgaria in the Bansko Municipality of the Blagoevgrad Province. It is situated on the aastern slopes of Pirin 16 kilometers southeast of Bansko and 54 kilometers southeast of Blagoevgrad. The village is 6 kilometers away from the secondary international road 19 Blagoevgrad-Bansko-Gotse Delchev-Drama. The ruins of the Kremen fortress are situated 4 kilometers northwest of the village. The fortress is small - 600 m² and built of local stone.

Obidim

Obidim is a village (село) in southwestern Bulgaria, located in the Bansko Municipality of the Blagoevgrad Province in Pirin mountain 15 kilometers souteast of Bansko and 52 km southeast of Blagoevgrad. As of 2006 it has 141 inhabitants. The village was founded in the 14th century. During the Ottoman rule, the local population strongly preserved the Bulgarian patriotic spirit and as a result the village was burned down in 1903 and 1912 when it was finally liberated.

Mesta, Bulgaria

Mesta is a village in southwestern Bulgaria, located in the Bansko Municipality of the Blagoevgrad Province. The village is situated alongside of the secondary road 19 from Razlog to Drama on the right bank of Mesta river. The first houses were erected there after 1914 year. It was part of the village Obidim with the old name Obidimski hanove until 1965 year, when it was separated as different village and named Mesta.

Popovo Lake

The Popovo Lake is the largest of the eleven Popovo Lakes. The lake and its vicinity is among the most popular places for summer tourism in the Pirin National Park. The lake is situated at the bottom of the Popovski Cirque and is surrounded by the peaks Sivriya, Dzhano, Kralev dvor, Momin dvor and Dzhengal. The lake is the largest and the deepest in Pirin, and has the largest volume as well.

Gazey

Gazey is a peak in the Pirin mountain, Bulgaria situated on a small sideward ridge of the Polejansli Ridge. It is 2,761 m high, which makes it ninth in the mountain. Viewed from Polejan it looks small, rising slightly above the Upper Polejan lake but its western slopes are dizzy as they descent towards the valley of Damyanitsa. The peak looks majestic from the valley, it can be clearly seen even from the Razlog Valley. Below the larger peak tower a lower one which also looks imposing.
