Slivo Pole

Slivo Pole is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Rousse Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Slivo Pole Municipality, which lies in the northeastern part of the Province. The town is located five kilometres from the Danube, along the main road from Rousse to Silistra. As of December 2009, it has a population of 3,169 inhabitants. Slivo Pole was proclaimed a town on 29 November 2002.

Flămânda Offensive

The Flămânda Offensive (or Flămânda Maneuver, which took place between 29 September and 5 October 1916, was an offensive across the Danube mounted by the Romanian 2nd Army during World War I. The battle represented a consistent effort by the Romanian Army to stop the Central Powers south offensive led by August von Mackensen. The battle ended as a tactical victory for the Central Powers.

Vetovo

Vetovo is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Ruse Province. It is the administrative centre of Vetovo Municipality, which lies in the eastern part of the area, and ranks third in population in the province after Ruse and Byala. The town is located 40 kilometres away from the provincial capital - Ruse. As of December 2009, Vetovo has a population of 4,777 inhabitants. The population of Vetovo mainly consists of Bulgarians, Turks, Crimean Tatars and Roma.
