Karanovo culture

The Karanovo culture is a neolithic culture (Karanovo I-III ca. 62nd to 55th centuries BC) named for the Bulgarian village of Karanovo . Yugoiztochen

Yugoiztochen is one of Bulgaria's planning regions. The capital is Burgas. It includes: Burgas Province, Sliven Province, Yambol Province and Stara Zagora Province. Mostly inhabited by Bulgarians, Roma one of the highest rates in country. It's the least densely populated region in the country. Largest cities are Burgas - 200 000; Stara Zagora - 145 000, Sliven - 98 000; Yambol - 80 000, Kazanlak- 55 000.

Tvarditsa

Tvarditsa is a town in Sliven Province, Southeastern Bulgaria. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Tvarditsa Municipality. As of December 2009, the town has a population of 5,669 inhabitants. Tvarditsa is located on the southern slopes of Stara Planina. The area around is known as the Tvarditsa Coal Basin, the only place in the country where soft coal is mined. Tvarditsa Rocks in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica are named after Tvarditsa.
