Bozhurishte

Bozhurishte is a town in western Bulgaria. It is the administrative center of Bozhurishte Municipality in Sofia Province; close to Kostinbrod and the capital Sofia. The old airport of Sofia, now a military one, is near the town. Bozhurishte was first mentioned in 1750. Its name is derived from the flower peony (божур, bojur). TEREM, a former weapons manufacturer owned by the government and recently sold to private investors operates from Bozhurishte.

Petarch

Petarch is a village in Kostinbrod municipality, Sofia Province, located in western Bulgaria approximately 5 km south-west of the town of Kostinbrod. In the centre there is a monument, several pubs and a computer club. There exist an Orthodox church and a school. There are several buses to Kostinbrod and Sofia. Petarch was first mentioned as Bedriç in an Ottoman record of 1448, later as Bedric in 1520, Petreiç in 1574, Petriç in 1728, Petriçe in 1519, 1574 and 1649.

Sofia Valley

The Sofia Valley (Bulgarian: Софийска котловина, Sofiyska kotlovina or Софийско поле, Sofiysko pole) is a valley in central western Bulgaria, bordering Stara Planina to the northeast, the Viskyar, Lyulin, Vitosha and Lozen mountains to the southwest, the Vakarel Mountain to the southeast and the low Slivnitsa Heights to the northwest.

Opitsvet

Opitsvet is a village in Kostinbrod municipality, Sofia Province, located in western Bulgaria approximately 31 km from the capital city of Sofia and 11 km west of the town of Kostinbrod. The village was first mentioned as Opiçvud and Opiçved in Ottoman registers of 1576. The name may be linked to the adjective from lop and the common noun tsvet ("blossom").

Lyulin, Sofia

Lyulin is the largest residential complex in the capital of Bulgaria -- Sofia. It is located in the western outskirts of city and is divided into 10 microdistricts. The complex has a population of 240,000 and is at the disposal of all kinds of public transport. Lyulin is a relatively new district. The infrastructural work on the complex began in 1971 and the first condominium was constructed in 1973. The complex is named after the nearby Lyulin Mountain.
