Russell is a town of 1,611 (2011 census) located in southwestern Manitoba, Canada, in the Rural Municipality of Russell. The town of Russell is located along Highway 16 and Highway 83, and is at the western terminus of Highway 45. Russell is approximately 15 km from the Saskatchewan border and 340 km northwest of Winnipeg. The community is home to approximately 1,700 people, with a trading area population of over 14,000.

Rural Municipality of Russell

Russell is a rural municipality located in the Parkland Region of Manitoba, Canada. It had a population of 661 according to the Canada 2006 Census. The RM surrounds the separately administered Town of Russell, located in its northeastern section, and the Village of Binscarth, in its southeastern section. Part of the Gambler 63 First Nations Indian reserve lies at its extreme south.

Binscarth, Manitoba

Binscarth is a village (pop. 425 in 2011) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Russell. It is located approximately 167 kilometres northwest of Brandon and 16 kilometres south from the town of Russell, Manitoba. The community was originally formed around a stock farm established by the Scottish Ontario and Manitoba Land Company some three miles northwest of the current townsite.

Inglis is a small village located in the Rural Municipality of Shellmouth-Boulton, Manitoba, Canada, on Provincial Road 366 2 miles east of Hwy 83 between Russell and Roblin. Inglis is the closest town to the Asessippi Ski Area and the Lake of the Prairies. It is the home of the Inglis Grain Elevators, a National Historic Site of Canada.

Inglis Grain Elevators National Historic Site

Inglis elevator row is a row of five grain elevators standing in a row from south to north alongside the former Canadian Pacific Railway track bed, on the southeast edge of the village of Inglis, Manitoba, Canada. Because so many grain elevators have been demolished throughout Western Canada, only two elevator rows have survived partial if not complete demolition.
