The Centre Georges-Vézina, formerly the Colisée de Chicoutimi, is a 4,724 capacity (3,683 seated) multi-purpose arena in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. The arena was built in 1949 and features an Olympic-sized ice pad of 200' X 100'. It is named in honour of former Montreal Canadiens goalie and native from Chicoutimi Georges Vézina. It is home to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens ice hockey team of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League since 1973.

The Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Saguenay is a music conservatory located in Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada. The conservatory was opened in 1967 and is part of a network of 9 conservatories in Quebec, the Conservatoire de musique et d'art dramatique du Québec (CMADQ), and was the seventh school in the CMADQ network to be established. Approximately 85 pupils are enrolled at the conservatory. Pierre Bourque served as the school's director in 1972-1973.

Saguenay Flood
The Saguenay Flood (French: Déluge du Saguenay) was a series of flash floods that hit the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, on July 19 and 20, 1996. It was the biggest overland flood in 20th century Canadian history. Problems started after two weeks of constant rain, which severely engorged soils, rivers and reservoirs. The Saguenay region is a geological graben, which increased the effect of the sudden massive rains of July 19, 1996.
