Peščenica – Žitnjak is a city district in the southeastern part of Zagreb, Croatia. It consists of two parts: Peščenica, a set of neighborhoods; and Žitnjak, a large industrial zone on the city outskirts, and has a total population of 58,283. The smaller neighbourhoods that form the core of Peščenica include: Stara Peščenica Donje Svetice Volovčica Ferenščica These neighborhoods are delineated by major city arterials, such as the Slavonska Avenue and Vukovarska Avenue.

Slavonska Avenue

Slavonska Avenue is a controlled-access avenue in Zagreb, Croatia. It is the longest street in Zagreb, being 18 km long. It mostly has a 70 km/h speed limit, although the speed is limited to 100 km/h on a short section near the Ivanja Reka interchange with the Zagreb bypass and to 130 km/h on the section between the Ivanja Reka interchange and Zagreb city limits. In 2007 the avenue was proclaimed to be the most accident-prone road in Zagreb. The avenue is an important east-west arterial road.

Ivanja Reka

Ivanja Reka is a neighborhood located in the eastern part of the Peščenica - Žitnjak city district of Zagreb, Croatia. The population is 2,034. Its main thoroughfare is the Slavonska Avenue. The nearby Ivanja Reka interchange is a major highway interchange of Slavonska Avenue/A3 and the Zagreb bypass, located east of the neighborhood. Ivanja Reka is located east of Resnik. Ivanja Reka was administratively party of Dugo Selo before 1988, when it was included in the City of Zagreb.

Dubrava is one of the largest parts of Zagreb, Croatia. It is located in the northeastern part of the city and divided by the Dubrava Avenue into two administrative areas: Gornja Dubrava (Upper Dubrava) Donja Dubrava (Lower Dubrava) The name comes from a Slavic toponym for oak forests.
