Antiphonitis

Antiphonitis is a 12th century domed church in Cyprus. It is reached from the network of tracks in the area of the Herbarium and Agios Amvrosios, situated with a view of the sea. The dome is supported by eight pillars, four built into the walls and four free-standing. It is understood that this is the last church of this style remaining in Cyprus.

Kyrenia Mountains

The Kyrenia Mountains are a long, narrow chain of mountains that runs approximately 160 km along the north coast of Cyprus. The mountains are primarily limestone, with some marble. The highest mountain, Kyparissovouno, is 1,024 m in elevation. The western half of the range is also known as the Pentadactylos. Pentadactylos is also sometimes used synonymously with "Kyrenia Mountains" to refer to the entire range.

Maratha, Santalaris and Aloda massacre

Maratha, Santalaris and Aloda massacre (Turkish: Muratağa, Sandallar ve Atlılar katliamı), refers to the massacre of Turkish Cypriots by EOKA B on 14 August 1974 in the villages of Maratha, Santalaris and Aloda. 89 (or 84) people from Maratha and Santalaris were killed, and a further 37 people were killed in the village of Aloda. In total, 126 people were killed during the massacre.

Sourp Magar

Sourp Magar (Armenian: Սուրբ Մակար or Magaravank, Մակարավանք) is an Armenian monastery located in a forested valley in the Pentadhaktylos range in the Republic of Cyprus. As a result of Cyprus dispute and the invasion of the Turkish army in 1974, the site presently falls within the Turkish-occupied area of Cyprus. The Magaravank stands at 530 metres and is about 3 km from the Halevga Forest Station.
