Petrovice (Bruntál District)

Petrovice is a village and municipality in Bruntál District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. Petrovice municipality is situated in the westernmost and the most mountainous part of the Osoblažsko Microregion in the Petrovický stream valley. Mountains of Zlatohorská Upland rise steeply from the stream banks reaching up to 900 m. This lovely countryside with its rural character (Petrovice is Village Conservation Area) is the best to suit an actively spent holiday.

Zlaté Hory

Zlaté Hory is a town in the Jeseník District, Olomouc Region, Czech Republic, on the border with Poland. It has a population of 4,447 (2006). The town was founded in 1224. Administrative parts: Rejvíz, Horní a Dolní Údolí and Ondřejovice According to the Austrian census of 1910 the town had 4,520 inhabitants, 4,341 of whom had permanent residence there. Census asked people for their native language, 4,341 (100%) were German-speaking.

Opava (river)

The Opava is a river in the north-eastern Czech Republic, a left tributary of the Oder river. It originates at the confluence of Bílá (White), Střední (Middle) and Černá (Black) Opava in Vrbno pod Pradědem and runs over 119 km (74 mi) to the Oder at Ostrava, with some 25 km (16 mi) forming the border with Poland. After the 1742 First Silesian War the Opava river in the Duchy of Troppau by the terms of the Treaty of Breslau became the border between Austrian and Prussian Silesia.
