Svibice

was a village in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality, but became administratively a part of Český Těšín in 1947. The village was first mentioned in 1461. It belonged then to the Duchy of Teschen, formed in 1290. Before 1920 the village of Błogocice was administratively a part of Svibice, but after division of Cieszyn Silesia in that year it became a separate municipality. In 1947 Svibice was submerged with Český Těšín.

Ropičanka

The Ropičanka is a 16 kilometres -long river in the Frýdek-Místek and Karviná districts, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It is a left tributary of the Olza River, which it enters on the outskirts of Český Těšín. The Ropičanka flows through Řeka, Smilovice, Střítež and Ropice (from source to mouth). A small portion of its volume (about 0.07 m³/s or 2.5 ft³/s) is diverted to the watershed of the Stonávka River in order to increase the flow rate at the Těrlicko Dam.

Jesus Church (Cieszyn)

Jesus Church or Grace Church is a Lutheran Church located in Cieszyn, Poland. It is one of the largest and most important Protestant churches in Poland. The construction of the Lutheran basilica was made possible with the assistance of Sweden's Charles XII, who forced Austrian Emperor Joseph I to provide right for Protestants. Late Austrian Baroque in style, Jesus Church was constructed between 1709-1750.

Dolní Žukov

Dolní Žukov is a village in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Český Těšín in 1960. It has a population of 1,064 (2005). The village of Žukov was first mentioned in the document of Pope Gregory IX issued for Benedictine abbey in Tyniec in 1229 as Zukow. Politically it belonged then to the Duchy of Opole and Racibórz, and since 1290 to the Duchy of Teschen.

Cieszyn

Cieszyn is a border-town and the seat of Cieszyn County, Silesian Voivodeship, southern Poland. It has 36,109 inhabitants (2004). Cieszyn lies on the Olza River, a tributary of the Oder river, opposite Český Těšín. It is situated in the heart of the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Until the end of World War I in 1918 it was a seat of the Duchy of Teschen.
