Hammel

Hammel is a town in central Denmark with a population of 6,881 (1 January 2011), and a former railway town at the Aarhus-Hammel-Thorsø railroad which was closed in 1956. The town is located in Favrskov municipality in Jutland. Until January 1, 2007, it was also the site of the municipal council of the now former Hammel municipality.

Hinnerup

Hinnerup, is a town in central Denmark with a population of 7,191 (1 January 2011), located in Favrskov municipality in Region Midtjylland in Jutland just north of Aarhus and is more or less a suburb today. Until January 1, 2007, Hinnerup was the site of the municipal council of the now former Hinnerup municipality. Hinnerup Stationsby was formed in 1862.

Galten, Denmark

Galten is a former railway town in central Denmark, at the Aarhus-Hammel-Thorsø railroad which was closed in 1956. The town is located in Skanderborg Municipality, Region Midtjylland, Jutland – about 17 km (a little more than 10 mi) – west of Aarhus and is now more or less a satellite town of Aarhus. Today, Galten has almost fused with the neighbouring eastern town of Skovby into an urban area with a population of 7,874 (1 January 2011).

Galten Municipality

Until January 1, 2007, Galten municipality was a municipality in Aarhus County in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 72,73 km², and had a total population of 11.086 (2005). Its last mayor was Jens Grønlund, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The site of its municipal council was the town of Galten.
