Hornslet

Hornslet is a town located in East Jutland, on the westernmost Djursland, Denmark. It is a Commuter town of the city of Aarhus, which lies approximately 25 kilometers to the southwest, and a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Hornslet is located in Syddjurs Municipality, which in turn is part of Region Midtjylland, and has a population of 5,361 (1 January 2011).

Rosenholm Castle

Rosenholm Castle is Denmark's oldest family-owned castle, and is one of the best-preserved complexes from the golden age of the manor house – from 1550 to 1630. Rosenholm Castle is founded in 1559 by the Danish nobleman Jørgen "George" Rosenkrantz. His family are among the oldest and most famous in the Danish history. Shakespeare chose to use the name in the play Hamlet. Later extended, standing complete in 1607 with four wings, clearly influenced by the Italian Renaissance style.

Rosenholm Municipality

"Rosenholm" redirects here. For the 1991 Swedish TV series, see Rosenholm (TV series). Until 1 January 2007 Rosenholm municipality was a municipality in the former Aarhus County on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark just north of Aarhus and is more or less a suburb today. The municipality covered an area of 141 km², and had a total population of 10.325 (2005). Its last mayor was Richard Volander, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.

Kalø slot

Kalø Slot is a ruined castle located in eastern Jutland, in Denmark, only 20 km from the city center of Aarhus. The castle was founded in 1313 by the Danish king Erik Menved in order to establish a stronghold in northern Jutland to counter the ongoing rebellions by the local nobility and peasants against the crown. The castle was successful and from the 15th century and onwards the castle had a more peaceful role as the local administrative center.
