Aarhus Municipality

Aarhus Municipality, also commonly known by its older Danish spelling Århus Municipality, is a municipality on the east coast of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 469 km, and has a total population of 315.193 (January 2012). The current Mayor of Aarhus municipality is Jacob Bundsgaard of the Social Democrats, who took over after Nicolai Wammen in August 2011. Wammen wanted to focus on the upcoming election for Parliament.

Skødstrup

The suburb is also a railway town at Grenaabanen, the railroad between the cities of Aarhus and Grenaa. Today Skødstrup has grown together with the adjoining railway town of Løgten into a small urban area named Løgten-Skødstrup with a population of 6,334 (1 January 2011).
