Horne Church

Horne Church was established in the Late Middle Ages on the southwest part of the island of Funen, Denmark. This church, originally founded as a Catholic place of worship, is situated in the village of Horne; in present times the church no longer serves as a Catholic Parish. Horne Church is the only round church on Funen. Originally constructed from granite stonework, it was modified in the 15th century with the addition of Gothic extensions on the east and west.

Haarby

Haarby or Hårby is a town in central Denmark with a population of 2,494 (1 January 2011). The town is located in Assens municipality, Syddanmark Region on the island of Funen. Until 1 January 2007 it was also the site of the municipality council of the former Haarby municipality.

Hvedholm Castle

Hvedholm Castle near Faaborg on the island of Funen in Denmark was built in the 15th century. It was owned in turn by the Banke, Hardenberg and Brahe families until 1919, when the Danish government presented the then owners with an enormous tax demand, forcing them to sell it to the state for approximately 175,000 Danish kroner. Hvedholm Castle was later returned to the Brahe family, who were considered for generations the rightful rulers of the castle and surrounding villages.

Haarby Municipality

Until 1 January 2007, Haarby municipality or Hårby municipality was a municipality in Funen County on the southwest coast of the island of Funen in central Denmark. To the south is Helnæs Bay (Helnæs Bugt). The municipality covered an area of 80 km², and had a total population of 5,037 (2005). Its last mayor was Ole Møller, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party.

Little Belt

The Little Belt is a strait between the Danish island of Funen and the Jutland Peninsula. The belt is about 50 km long and 800m to 28 km wide, the maximum depth is approximately 75 m, and contains numerous small Danish islands. Two bridges cross the belt, the Old Little Belt bridge and the New Little Belt bridge; also the two Little Belt overhead powerline crossings.
