Højreby

Until January 1, 2007 Højreby was a municipality on the island of Lolland in Storstrøm County in south Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 128 km², and had a total population of 4,049 (2005). Its last mayor was Jytte Frijs, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The site of its municipal council was the town of Søllested. Højreby municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).

Lolland Municipality

Lolland municipality (on the island of Lolland) is a municipality in Region Sjælland in Denmark. It covers an area of 892 km² and a total population of 48,219 (2008). The local capital of Lolland municipality is Maribo while the largest town is Nakskov. On 1 January 2007 Lolland municipality was created as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), consisting of the former municipalities of Holeby, Højreby, Maribo, Nakskov, Ravnsborg, Rudbjerg and Rødby.

Lolland

Lolland (formerly spelled Laaland) is the fourth largest island of Denmark, with an area of 1,243 square kilometers (480 sq. miles). Located in the Baltic sea, it is part of Region Sjælland (Region Zealand). As of 1 January 2010, it has 65,764 inhabitants. Lolland is also known as "the pan-cake" island because of its flatness: the highest peak of the entire isle is 25 m (82 ft) high. The island has been an important communication highway, among others for the Germans during World War II.

Lolland Hydrogen Community

Denmark's first full-scale wind-Hydrogen energy plant and testing facility, the Lolland Hydrogen Community, began operation in May 2007. It is also the European Union's first full-scale Hydrogen Community Demonstration facility for residential Fuel Cell Combined Heat and Power (CHP). Phase 3 of the project that runs until 2012 is the installing of fuel cell micro combined heat and power plants.
