Antvorskov

Antvorskov was the principal Scandinavian monastery of the Roman Catholic Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, located about one kilometer south of the town of Slagelse on Zealand, Denmark. It served as the Scandinavian headquarters of the Order, known also as "the Hospitallers", and the prior of Antvorskov reported directly to the great officer of the Order in Germany, the Grand Master of the Order on Rhodes (and, later, on Malta), and the pope.

Slagelse Municipality

Slagelse municipality is a municipality in Region Sjælland on the west coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 571 km², and has a total population of 77,457 (2008). Its mayor is Lis Tribler, a member of the Social Democrats (Socialdemokraterne) political party. The main city and the site of its municipal council is the city of Slagelse.

Saint Michaels Parish is a parish in the town of Slagelse, Slagelse municipality. Until Kommunreformen (1970), the parish was located in Slagelse Herred. In Sankt Michaels Parish is Saint Michaels Church.

Hashøj Municipality

Until January 1, 2007 Hashøj municipality was a municipality in West Zealand County near the west coast of the island of Zealand (Sjælland) in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 131 km², and had a total population of 6,632 (2005). Its last mayor was Troels Christensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The main town and the site of its municipal council was the town of Dalmose. The municipality was named after the hill Hashøjen near the town of Slots Bjergby.

Trelleborg (Slagelse)

The Trelleborg near Slagelse on the Danish island of Zealand is one of the Viking ring castles of which five or six have been found until now (2006). It lies to the northwest of Slagelse. At the time the fortress was built it was situated on a peninsula that jutted into the swampy area between two rivers. It was connected to the Great Belt by a lake that at its time was usable for Viking ships, but that has since vanished.
