Interesting facts about this location


Anjalankoski is a former town and municipality of Finland. It had 17,301 inhabitants (2006 estimate). About 4/5 of the people live in the vicinity of the Kymi River. The most densely populated communities are Myllykoski and Inkeroinen. In addition, there is plenty of countryside. The town's major industry is forestry along the Kymi Riverside. The paper factories Stora Enso Oyj and Myllykoski Paper Oy are the main employers together with the town itself.

Saviniemi is a multi-use stadium in Kouvola, Finland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of MyPa. The stadium holds 4,167 and was built in 1995. The stadium has hosted several Europa League qualifying matches, including 3 in the 10-11 tournament when MyPa where eliminated in the 3rd qualifying round by Romanian Club Timişoara.

Anjala conspiracy

The Anjala conspiracy of 1788 was a scheme by disgruntled Swedish officers to end Gustav III's Russian War of 1788–90. Declaring Finland an independent state was part of the plot, although it is disputed what importance the conspirators connected to that aspect.

Kouvola railway station

The Kouvola railway station is located in the city of Kouvola in Finland. The Kouvola railway station is an important crossing point station. It is located about 130 kilometres from the Helsinki Central railway station. There is also a bus terminal by the station and together they form a travel centre.
