Emäsalo

Emäsalo (Swedish Emsalö) is an island and a village in the city of Porvoo in Southern Finland. The population is approximately 400, but during summer many people from all over the world come to spend their holidays at their summer cottages on the island. The majority of the population are Swedish-speaking Finns. The island has a bridge connected to the Finland mainland since 1992. Emäsalo is divided into four villages; Emsalö By, Orrby, Bengstby and Varlax.

Vessölandet

Vessölandet, also called Vessö is an island situated 10 km to the south of Porvoo in Finland. It has an area of 52 km and is the largest island in the region of Eastern Uusimaa. It has a population of 500, of which 400 are Swedish- speaking.

Sibbesborg

Sibbesborg was a medieval castle in Sipoo, Finland. Today, only some earth walls remain on the forested hill upon which it stood. The castle was mostly made of bricks and wood in the late 14th century. Sibbesborg was originally located on an island, but due to the post-glacial rebound the hill has been firmly connected to the mainland since the 17th century. The site can be accessed on foot.

Kråkö

Kråkö is a small island in Porvoo (Borgå in Swedish) in Finland. There is a primary school for Swedish-speaking children on the island and a voluntary fire station. There used to be a few shops and a cafeteria. However these closed down in the late 1990s. There is a museum of boatbuilding, reflecting the islanders' main industry during the 19th and 20th centuries. The population was, until recent times, almost unilingually Swedish-speaking.

Porvoonjoki

Porvoonjoki (Porvoo River, Borgå å in Swedish) is a small river in Finland. The Mediaeval town of Porvoo is situated in the river delta.
