Öja (island)
Öja is an island in the Gulf of Bothnia in Kokkola (Karleby) municipality, Finland. It has an area of 90 square kilometres . Öja is also the name of a settlement on the island with a population of 800. Öja was an independent municipality until 1969, when it was consolidated to Kaarlela. Kaarlela was consolidated to Kokkola in 1977.

SS John Grafton
S/S John Grafton was a steamboat which was used in an unsuccessful attempt to smuggle large quantities of arms for the Finnish resistance to the Imperial Russian regime in 1905. The matter later came to be known as the "Grafton Affair". The S/S John Grafton was a 315-ton ship built in 1883. It was bought by Akashi Motojiro in 1905 to aid an armed uprising in Finland. This was done nominally in the name of a sympathetic London wine merchant.
