Georgian National Astrophysical Observatory
Georgian National Astrophysical Observatory (GENAO) currently renamed again as Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory was founded in 1932 on Mount Kanobili, near resort Abastumani. The different places of Mt. Kanobili are located between 1650-1700 m. above sea level. The observatory is located ~250 km far from the capital city Tbilisi of Georgia in the west direction. Telecopes 33 cm. Reflector - mounted in 1932, now is in the Museum of GENAO 40 cm. Zeiss Refractor - mounted in 1936 44 cm.

Vale is a border crossing point into the Turkish village of Türkgözü, in Posof district. The town is situated on the right bank of the Potskhovi River (a tributary to the Mtkvari), on the slopes of the Lesser Caucasus at 1,000-1,200 m above sea level. Vale is first recorded as a village in the 10th-century.
