3rd Panzer Division (Bundeswehr)

The 3rd Armoured Division was formed on 2 July 1956 in Hamburg and was one of the first major formations of the new German Army or Bundeswehr after the Second World War. The 3rd Armoured Division was stationed on the North German Plain between the rivers Elbe and Weser. Its last headquarters location was Buxtehude. It was part of the I Corps alongside the 1st Panzer, 7th Panzer, and 11th Panzergrenadier Divisions. The 3rd Armoured Division was disbanded on 30 September 1994.

Halepaghen-Schule

The Gymnasium Halepaghen-Schule (short HPS) is a Gymnasium in Buxtehude. The school was mentioned for the first time 1390 as an (origin) Grammar school. The school was named after Gerhard Halepaghe (born about 1430 in Buxtehude; died April 1484 in Buxtehude), a famous graduate from Buxtehude. The Halepaghen-Schule was the first school in Germany to establish a new sixth form system. Instead of a class system, the HPS established a course system.

Rübke

Rübke a town located in the north of Lower Saxony, Germany. Its population is approximately 500 and consists of two main roads (Nincoper Deich and Buxtehude Straße). Rübke belonged to the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen, established in 1180. In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into the Duchy of Bremen, which was first ruled in personal union by the Swedish Crown - interrupted by a Danish occupation (1712–1715) - and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown.
