Friedrich Clemens Gerke Tower

Friedrich Clemens Gerke Tower is a 230 metre tall telecommunication tower of reinforced concrete in Cuxhaven in Germany. Friedrich Clemens Gerke Tower, which is named after Friedrich Clemens Gerke, was completed in 1991 and is not accessible for tourists. In spite of its size, it is only used as receiving point for cable TV, as a radio relay station and as a mobile phone transmitter, but not for broadcasting. Cuxhaven station

Cuxhaven is a railway station in northwestern Germany. The station is a terminal station with passenger services to Bremerhaven and to Hamburg. The Cuxhaven-Bremerhaven service is operated by Nordseebahn, a joint venture of several train operating companies. The Cuxhaven to Hamburg service, which was operated by Deutsche Bahn, became a metronom service by the end of 2007.

Sahlenburg

Sahlenburg is a borough of the city Cuxhaven near the mouth of the river Elbe in Lower Saxony, Germany. The Sahlenburg beach is popular with tourists. In addition to swimming in the sea when the tide permits, there are also walks into the Duhner and the Werner forests. The earliest artifacts discovered are the flint tools of ice age hunters dated to c. 18,000 BCE. The fist record of Sahlenburg is from 1325 and concerns Mr. von Lappe of noble lineage.

Kugelbake

The Kugelbake is a historic aid to navigation in the city of Cuxhaven, Germany, at the northernmost point of Lower Saxony, where the River Elbe flows into the North Sea. In the Low German dialect of the Middle Ages, the term bake referred to all navigational aids – including lighthouses. About 30 meters (100 feet) high and built of wood, the Kugelbake is the principal landmark of Cuxhaven; since 1913, it has been depicted on the city's coat of arms.

Sahlenburg Marine Radio Station

Sahlenburg Marine Radio Station was a facility of Elbe-Weser Radio in Sahlenburg, an urban part of Cuxhaven, Germany, for marine radio service in short- and mediumwave range. Sahlenburg Marine Radio Station used first a triangular antenna, which was fixed on three guyed wooden masts, each 40 metres tall, which were erected in 1929. In 1937 these masts were replaced by three 50-metre tall free-standing wood towers with triangular cross sections, which also carried a triangular antenna.
