Angitis

The Angitis, also known as Angista is a tributary of the River Strymonas in Northern Greece. The river Angitis is 75 km long and it is considered to be an important tributary of the Strymonas. Its source is in the Falakro mountains, in the regional unit of Drama, near the town Prosotsani. It flows towards the south until Fotolivos, where it turns west and enters the Serres regional unit. It flows into the Strymonas near Tragilos.

Pethelinos

Pethelinos is a small village in the Serres regional unit of Central Macedonia, Greece 22 km away from the town of Serres, and not far from the Strymon River. The village has approximately 500 inhabitants. It is part of the municipal unit Strymonas. The old name of the village was Nea RentiniThe village has two churches, one of Saint Nikolaos and one of the Prophet Elias, built on a hill just outside the village.

Lefkotopos

Levkotopos is a village in the municipal unit of Achinos, Serres regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece. It has 242 inhabitants. In Lefkotopos is situated the KEP of the municipal unit of Achinos. The village was founded on 1922, by Pontic Greeks, also by Greek inhabitants of North-East Anatolia, an area whose population has been Greek since the early Greek history, and who were expelled from their homes in 1922, by the Turks.

Struma (river)

The Struma or Strymónas is a river in Bulgaria and Greece. Its ancient name was Strymōn. Its catchment area is 10,800 km². It takes its source from the Vitosha Mountain in Bulgaria, runs first westward, then southward, enters Greek territory at the Kula village. In Greece it is the main waterway feeding and exiting from Lake Kerkini, a significant centre for migratory wildfowl. The river flows into the Strymonian Gulf in Aegean Sea, near Amphipolis in the Serres regional unit.
