Nea Peramos, Kavala

Nea Peramos, is a town located 17 kilometres from Kavala, the capital of the regional unit of Kavala, Greece. Its population as of the 2001 census is 2,468. Since 1998, according the Law of Kapodistrias, seven villages joined in a new municipality which was called Municipality of Eleftheres. The central administration authority resided in Nea Peramos, which is the largest of the villages listed above. The first Mayor of the Community of Eleftheres was Iraklis Karaberidis.

Technological Educational Institute of Kavala

The Kavala Institute of Technology is a public institute providing university-level education in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The institute has three campuses; the main campus in St. Lukas, Kavala, and additional campuses in Drama and Didymoteicho, Evros regional unit. The TEI of Kavala has 13,500 registered students, ranking seventh among the 16 technological educational institutes in Greece in terms of students.

Philippi

Philippi (in Greek Φίλιπποι Philippoi) was a city in eastern Macedonia, established by Philip II in 356 BC and abandoned in the 14th century after the Ottoman conquest. The present municipality Filippoi is located near the ruins of the ancient city and it is part of the region of East Macedonia and Thrace in Greece.

Krinides

Krinides or Crenides is a town and an ancient site that includes the archaeological site of Philippi in the Kavala regional unit in eastern Macedonia. Krinides is the seat of the municipality of Filippoi south of the Pangaion hills. The mountains dominate most of the municipality including the Lekani mountains while the farmlands as well as the Philippi-Drama plain is to the northwest. Krinides is located SE of Serres, E of Thessaloniki, SW of Drama and NW of Kavala.
