Skoda Xanthi Arena

Genisea

Genisea is a town in the Vistonida municipal unit of the Xanthi regional unit of Greece. According to a 2001 census, the population of Genisea was around 2,576 inhabitants. Under the Ottoman names "Yenidje" or "Yenidze" (from Turkish Yenice Karasu), Genisea was famous for its superior Oriental tobacco, especially suited for cigarettes. It lent its name to the Yenidze tobacco factory building in Dresden and to the British Yenidje Tobacco Company Limited.
