Kella, Florina

Kella is a village in the Amyntaio municipality of the Florina regional unit, Greece. The village was first mentioned in an Ottoman defter of 1468, where it is listed under the name of Gorničevo and described as a small settlement of thirty households. A second defter of 1481 records that the number had increased by only three households.

Battle of Kaymakchalan

The Battle of Kaymakchalan was a battle that was fought between Serbian and Bulgarian soldiers on the Macedonian Front during World War I. The battle was fought between 12 and 30 September 1916, when the Serbian army managed to capture the peak of Prophet Ilia while pushing the Bulgarians towards the town of Mariovo, where the latter formed new defensive lines.
