Ganjuran Church
The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Gereja Hati Kudus Yesus) is a Roman Catholic church located in Ganjuran, Bantul, Java, Indonesia. It is also known as the Ganjuran Church, based on its location. It is the oldest church in its administrative regency. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} The church was established on 16 April 1924 by the Schmutzer family, who owned a sugar factory in the area. Kemusuk is a village in the Argo Mulya area in the Sedayu subdistrict, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The village, around 10km to the west of Yogyakarta towards the town of Wates, is known as the birthplace of former president Suharto. Suharto was born to a 'poor but not unimportant farmer's family' in the village where his father, Kertosudiro, was a village irrigation official in charge of overseeing the allocation of water to different farmers in the village .
