Carracastle

Carracastle (Irish: Ceathrú an Chaisil, meaning "quarter of the fort") is a small, rural Roman Catholic parish in Counties Mayo, Roscommon and bordering County Sligo in Ireland (the corresponding civil parish is Kilbeagh). It is roughly half way between the Mayo town of Charlestown and the Roscommon town of Ballaghaderreen. The parish is made up of the main parish of Carracastle and the half parish of Rooskey.

Ballymote Castle

Ballymote Castle is a large rectangular keepless castle, built around 1300. It is located in the townland of Carrownanty on the outskirts of Ballymote in southern County Sligo, Ireland. This area was known historically as Átha Cliath an Chorainn, which roughly translates as The Ford of the Hurdles of Corran. It is the last of the Norman castles in Connacht.
