Hungry Hill

Hungry Hill is a 685 m, 2248 ft mountain on the Beara Peninsula in the Republic of Ireland. It is the highest peak of the Caha Mountains and the 130th highest in Ireland. Hungry Hill lies on the border of counties Cork and Kerry, although the peak is on the Cork side. The Irish name Cnoc Daod has been anglicised as Knockdhead and Knockday.

Lawrence Cove

Lawrence Cove is a sheltered inlet on the north side of Bere Island, West Cork, Ireland, just to the west of the main village of Rerrin. One of the island's ferry services operates from here. It is also the location of a yachting marina.

Rerrin

Rerrin is the name of the main village on Bere Island. The village is located on the north of the island and is next to the sheltered mooring of Lawrence Cove. It is also the name of the townland surrounding the village.

Bere Island

Bere Island or Bear Island (Irish: Oiléan Béarra, meaning "bear island", although officially called An tOileán Mór meaning "the big island") is an island off the west coast of County Cork, Ireland. It is roughly 11 km x 5 km in dimension and has a population of 210. Legend says that the island was named by a 2nd Century king of Munster, Mogh Nuadat, in honour of his wife, Beara, the daughter of Heber Mor, King of Castile.

Beara Peninsula

The Beara Peninsula is a peninsula on the south-west coast of Ireland, bounded between the Kenmare "river" to the north side and Bantry Bay to the south. It has two mountain ranges running down its centre: the Caha Mountains and the Slieve Miskish Mountains. The northern part of the peninsula from Kenmare to near Ardgroom is in County Kerry, while the rest forms the barony of Bear in County Cork.
