Shafir Regional Council
Shafir Regional Council is a regional council in the South District of Israel near the city of Kiryat Gat. The council is bordered on the north by the Be'er Tuvia Regional Council, on the east by Yoav Regional Council and Kiryat Gat, on the south by Lakhish Regional Council, and on the west by Hof Ashkelon Regional Council, Yoav Regional Council. The council is named for the Biblical city of Shafir.

Hevel Lakhish
Hevel Lakhish is an area of south-central Israel. Part of the southern Shephelah, it is located between the Judean Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea and is named after the Biblical city of Lachish. Before the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, three kibbutzim were founded in the area - Gal On, Gat and Negba. Between 1955 and 1961 twenty more settlements were established. The area is covered by three regional councils - Lakhish, Shafir and Yoav - and one city council, Kiryat Gat.

Yeshivat Or Etzion
Yeshivat Or Etzion is a Hesder Yeshiva, religious high school, and religious army preparation high school. It is located in Merkaz Shapira, Israel. It was founded in 1978. Its Rosh yeshiva is Rabbi Haim Drukman. The "Yeshiva Gavoha" roll is approximately 220 students. Yeshiva Gavoha offers the full Hesder military service, but opts for an extra year of study in Yeshiva before the army service.

Menuha
Menuha is a moshav in south-central Israel, a few km north of Kiryat Gat and south of Kiryat Malakhi. It belongs to the Lakhish Regional Council. It was founded in 1953 by immigrants to Israel from Kurdistan and Iraq. This community, along with the neighboring Nahla, are named after "Biblical passage "Blessed be the Lord who has given rest to his people Israel ... " and for the Menuha VeNahala organization that founded Rehovot. Menuha means "rest" or "ease" in Hebrew.

Vardon
Vardon is a communal village in south-central Israel north of Kiryat Gat and south of Kiryat Malakhi. It belongs to the Yoav Regional Council. It was founded in 1960 as a youth center and became a communal village in 1998. It is found at the central intersection between three large moshavim: Menuha, Nahala and Sgula. The name of the community is a loose translation for the family of Julius Rosenfeld who was a Jewish donor from the United States.
