Aana

Aana, عانا, is a village in the Western Bekaa District of Lebanon, about 57km from Lebanon's capital, Beirut. Its name comes from the Syriac word 'ono, which means 'the flock'. The village has two churches, one dedicated to St. Elias and the other to the Virgin Mary, located in the adjacent borough of Deir Tahniche. The village is watered by a spring known as Shamsyne (Arabic, meaning 'the Two Suns'). The village produces wine and fruit.

Ain Dara, Lebanon

Ain Dara is a village about 30 km from Beirut, in the governorate of Mount Lebanon, in the Aley District. Ain Dara Municipality has an area of 2,586 hectares (25.86 km² - 9.98196 mi²), with a population of approximately 8000 persons (1700 emigrants). It had 3,874 registered voters in 2010. Ain Dara is located on a southward facing slope overlooking the pine forests of the safa valley at an altitude of 1,300 meters. It is close to Mount Barouk, which is famous for its cedar forest.

Chouf District

Chouf (also spelled Shouf, Shuf or Chuf, in Arabic جبل الشوف Jebel ash-Shouf) is a historic region of Lebanon, as well as an administrative district in the governorate (mohafazat) of Mount Lebanon. Located south-east of Beirut, the region comprises a narrow coastal strip notable for the Christian town of Damour, and the valleys and mountains of the western slopes of Jabal Barouk, the name of the local Mount Lebanon massif.

Aammiq Wetland
