Sitkūnai Radio Station

Sitkūnai Radio Station is a large facility for medium wave and shortwave broadcasting at Sitkūnai, Lithuania. The decision to build a new transmitting centre near the village of Sitkunai, about 17 km north of Kaunas was made by the Government of Lithuania in 1937. The building works started in 1939, and after completion, a 120 kW medium wave transmitter from Standard Telephones and Cables in the United Kingdom was ordered. However, the outbreak of World War II stopped the shipment.

Dubysa

Dubysa, at 131 km, is the 15th longest river in Lithuania. It originates just a few kilometers from Lake Rėkyva near Šiauliai city. At first it flows south, but at Lyduvėnai turns southeast and near Ariogala - southwest. Dubysa is a Samogitian river. The first few kilometres of Dybysa are also known as Genupis or Šventupis. Dubysa has about 40 tributaries, the largest being Kražantė on the right and Šiaušė, Gryžuva, and Gynėvė on the left.

Nemuno Žiedas

Nemuno žiedas is a motor racing circuit in Kačerginė, a small town near Kaunas, Lithuania opened in 1960. Lithuanian and Baltic touring cars championships rounds are held in Nemuno žiedas, as well as many professional and amateur events. The revamp of the track in 2003 was made with consultancy of Marcel Martin, one of the most respected circuit specialists from the FIA. Two years later he confirmed many positive changes in attempt to ensure the safety of the competitors and spectators.

Raudondvaris Castle

Raudondvaris Castle (Lithuanian: Raudondvario pilis, literally "Red Manor"), also referred to as Raudondvaris Manor, is a Gothic-Renaissance gentry residence, located in the eponymous town of Raudondvaris, Lithuania. First mentioned as a pagan keep by Teutonic chroniclers in 1392. When Samogitia was handed over to the Order, the Teutons built a small castle of Koenigsburg on this spot, housing 80 knights and 400 soldiers.

Ritterswerder

Ritterswerder was a short-lived wooden castle built by the Teutonic Knights in fall 1391. It was located on an island in the Neman River near Lampėdžiai, now part of the city of Kaunas. The Knights built the castle after they failed to capture Vilnius, capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, in a five-week siege in September–October 1390.
