Panemunė is an elderate in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas, that was formally incorporated into Kaunas in 1931. It is located on the left bank of the Nemunas River. It occupies 24.78 hectares, with 22,140 inhabitants. The elderate encompasses the neighbourhoods of Vaišvydava, Vičiūnai, Panemunė and Rokai. A vast pine wood occupies a significant area in this neighbourhood. Neorenaissance style Holy Virgin Mary church built in the middle of the 19th century is located in Panemunė elderate.

Napoleon's Hill
Napoleon's hill, actually Jiesia (Pajesys) hill fort mound is located in Kaunas, Lithuania, on the left bank of the Nemunas, between the Panemunė and Railway bridges. It is 63.3 meters high. Since the 19th century it has been nicknamed Napoleon's hill. It is believed that from this hill Napoleon I of France watched his Grande Armée crossing the Nemunas during the French invasion of Russia in June 1812.

Kaunas Botanical Garden
The Kaunas Botanical Garden was founded in 1923 south of the center of Kaunas, Lithuania, in conjunction with the University of Lithuania by the initiative of Tadas Ivanauskas and Konstantinas Regelis. The garden currently covers 62 hectares of land, with 517 square meters of conservatories and experimental greenhouses comprising 0.25 hectares in Freda, Aleksotas elderate.
