Vrben is a village near city of Gostivar, Macedonia. It is found in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuša at altitude of 1610 m. It has population of 142. According to the 2002 census, the village's population is consisted of 137 Macedonians and 5 Albanians. Famous people originating from Vrben include Paskal Sotirovski, world-recognized astrophysicist, and Selvije Saliu, politician. The orthodox church "Sv. Petka" is the most important community institution in the village.

Mavrovo Lake

Mavrovo (village)
Mavrovo is a village and tourist resort in the mountainous region of western Macedonia. It is located in the Mavrovo and Rostuša municipality. Vrutok
Vrutok is a small village settled on the slopes of Mount Bistra by the Korab mountains, near the town of Gostivar in the western part of Republic of Macedonia. The village has around 1,200 inhabitants, of which 400 are Macedonian and 800 Albanian. Its importance belongs to the water streams where the river Vardar (388 km), a major river in Macedonia and Greece, rises. Nearby is the hydro power plant Vrutok with 49 MW capacity.
