Vrben

Vrben is a village near city of Gostivar, Macedonia. It is found in the Municipality of Mavrovo and Rostuša at altitude of 1610 m. It has population of 142. According to the 2002 census, the village's population is consisted of 137 Macedonians and 5 Albanians. Famous people originating from Vrben include Paskal Sotirovski, world-recognized astrophysicist, and Selvije Saliu, politician. The orthodox church "Sv. Mavrovo Lake

Mavrovo Lake (Macedonian: Мавровско Езеро, Mavrovsko ezero) is situated in the Mavrovo region, in the Mavrovo and Rostuša municipality of the Republic of Macedonia, less than 100 km from Skopje. Abundant with trout, Lake Mavrovo is used for recreational activities such as swimming, boating and fishing during the summer. An additional point of interest is the half-submerged church in the lake.
