Jitra

Jitra is a town in Kedah, Malaysia. It is located in the Kubang Pasu district. It is the fourth largest town in Kedah after Alor Setar, Sungai Petani and Kulim. During World War II, when the Japanese attacked Malaya, Jitra was on the one of main lines of defence set up by the British. One of the fiercest battles during the British defence of Malaya were fought here. Universiti Utara Malaysia(UUM) is the public university near to this town.

Sultan Abdul Halim Airport

Sultan Abdul Halim Airport is an airport that serves Alor Setar, a city in the state of Kedah in Malaysia. The airport, located in Kepala Batas, is 8 miles 13 km away from town, can handle up to 800,000 ppa. The new terminal is already operational by 5 May 2006 to cater for future traffic growth. The new terminal has the capacity to receive the Airbus 330 operations as the runway was extended from the previous 1,963 metres long and 45 metres wide to 2,745 metres long and 45 metres wide.

Darul Aman Stadium

Darul Aman Stadium is an all-seater and a multi-purpose stadium in Alor Star, the capital of state of Kedah, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was built in 1967. It has a capacity of 32,387 seats after the expansion in 1997. It was one of the venues for the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship. It is the official stadium for Malaysian Super League's club Kedah FA and Malaysian Premier League's club Kuala Muda NAZA FC.
